The blasts left 23 people killed and another 15 injured, Omar Zwak, a spokesperson for the provincial governor confirmed to TKG.
“…We will see what caused the explosions,” he said.
The Taliban denied to claim responsibility for the attack, accusing the pro-government corps for being involved in the attack.
In a statement, the armed group said scores of civilians were killed and injured in Helmand’s Sangin district as they came under artillery fire by 215th Maiwand Army Corps.
Local officials in the province, however, denied the allegations, reiterating the casualties were brought by two consecutive blasts.
An investigation into the attack was begun and the media would soon be briefed on details, they added.
