Afghanistan: Health Ministry Announces Additional Lab-Confirmed Cases of Coronavirus

The Afghan health ministry reported additional cases on Monday (June 29) saying the country has now registered 31,238 coronavirus cases and a total of 733 deaths since the outbreak.

In the last 24 hours, 271 more people tested positive for the deadly disease, and 12 additional people lost the battle for their lives after contracting it, a tally by the Afghan health ministry indicated.

The capital Kabul recorded the largest increase in cases on Monday with 130 new positive tests, whereas four additional patients died of the illness in the past 24 hours.

Herat province remains a second coronavirus hotspot behind Kabul, where the health ministry reported an additional 30 cases in the past 24 hours.

The rest 111 new lab-confirmed cases were registered in the rest 14 provinces of the country.
Another statistic has also indicated a rise: the number of patients recovered from the illness.

According to health ministry data, 1,330 additional patients recovered from the novel coronavirus, bringing the toll to 13,934.
