Afghanistan reported additionally 492 new cases of the coronavirus on Wednesday, bringing its nationwide case count to more than 8,000.

Health Ministry: Afghanistan COVID-19 Cases Exceeds 8,000

The country lost as many as ten people to the coronavirus within the last 24 hours, according to the latest data by the health ministry.

With ten confirmed COVID-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours, total fatalities in the country has hit 187, a data by the ministry indicated.

According to the official data provided by the health ministry, some 80 patients having been infected with the novel COVID-19 have recovered, bringing the recovery toll to 930 in the country.
Officials in the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) have several times stressed on lockdown restrictions and requested the people to follow the imposed regulations.

Worldwide, at least 324,063 people have lost the battle for their lives and more than 4.9 million have been infected by the coronavirus pandemic, following an outbreak that started in Chinese central city of Wuhan, in early December of the last year.
