April 7 (The Killid Group) – Sources close to the former president Hamid Karzai and jihadi leader Abdul Rab Rasool Sayyaf told local media that Dr. Abdullah Abdullah wants a 40-45 percent of the government’s cabinet.
According to sources, Dr. Abdullah has also demanded an executive prime minister’s role.
Earlier, President Ghani proposed him a power-sharing plan to lead the Peace High Council which would engage in negotiations with the Taliban, but his proposal was not accepted.
It worth noting that Hamed Karzai and Abdul Rab Rasol Sayyaf have been working to break a political deadlock between the Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, but haven’t succeeded so far.
President Ghani and Dr. Abdullah remained deadlocked over who was announced president in last September’s presidential elections. They both declared themselves president in dueling inauguration ceremonies earlier in March.
