Taliban Attack Kills 5 Local Police in Takhar

March 30 (The Killid Group) — At least five members of local police in Takhar were killed as Khaja Ghar district of the northern Takhar province came under the Taliban’s attack.

Khalil Asir, Takhar police chief spokesperson told The Killid Radio, the Taliban attacked on the house of Khaja Ghar’s acting police chief on Sunday night.

According to him, the attack was pushed back by the Afghan forces, yet it left casualties to eight members of the Afghan forces.

The attack left five people, including a civilian, killed and three others injured.

The Taliban continue to their attacks amid coronavirus threats in the country as today a sticky bomb attached to vehicle detonated in the capital of Kabul, wounding at least four people, said Ferdaws Faramarz, spokesman for the Kabul police chief.

In the meantime, the insurgents targeted a military checkpoint in a multi-pronged attack in the district of Argandab in southern Zabul province on Sunday night, killing at least six Afghan troops.

The Taliban, however, have not claimed responsibility for the latest attacks.
