19 March (The Killid Group) – According to the Afghan Ministry of Public Health, efforts to expand testing capacity for the coronavirus are underway.
In a bid to control the spread of the pandemic coronavirus, the ministry of public health is continuing its efforts to improve testing capacity for the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Waheedullah Mayar, the spokesman for the ministry of public health said in a press conference on Wednesday, there has been no cases of the coronavirus over the past 24 hours.
According to him, no clinics, private hospitals and/or any other authorities are allowed to test people for the coronavirus.
So far, 273 suspected cases of the novel coronavirus have been recorded in Afghanistan, of which only 22 have tested positive, he said.
There are almost 200,000 recorded cases of infection by the coronavirus worldwide with 81,950 patients recovered so far.
