(TKG) ─ It was quoted in a statement issued by the Presidential Palace (ARG) as saying that yesterday [January 26, 2020], President Ashraf Ghani met with Ross Wilson, U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affairs to Afghanistan, and Gen Scott Miller, the commander of Resolute Support Mission, in the presidential office (ARG).
In the meeting, General Miller briefed the president on his trip to Qatar and on participating in the peace talks with the Taliban, saying that in case signs of progress are made in talks between Zalmai Khalilzad, the U.S. Special Envoy and the Taliban, he will visit Kabul and take the government of Afghanistan into confidence in detail.
President Ghani, in the meantime, underscored once again on the need for ending violence and for a thorough and inclusive ceasefire all across Afghanistan.
