GHAZNI (The Killid Group) – Afghan security force retrieved Jaghto district of a southeastern province from Taliban influences, which had been under control of the Taliban militants for two years, Ministry of Defense said in a statement Sunday.
“Afghan security forces freed Jaghto district from the Taliban militant’s influences during the second phase of Mobin operation, reconnecting Malistan, Jaghori, Ajristan and Naro districts to the center of the province,” the statement said.
The Taliban suffered heavy loss during the operation, where forces also defused a number of roadside mines.
The operation has been carried into three separate phases since last month, where during the first and second phase southern part of the province were cleared of insurgents, including Jaghto and Dara (Valley) Qiyaf of Ghazni.
The third phase is said to be a mopping operation in Number Yak (one) highway of the province.
