FARYAB (The Killid Group) – In a controversial case, Afghan security forces arrested a gang of five fraudsters in northwestern province of Faryab, who betrayed a woman and trade her for 50,000 Afghanis.
Karim Yourish, spokesman for the Faryab police, told The Killid, “the 28-year-old women Tala, a resident of Almar district in Faryab, had a phone-contact with one of the gang member, and got betrayed as asked to escape to Maimana city.”
Mobsters sold the woman for 50,000 Afghanis (roughly $1000) to a fella in Maimana city, as local forces identified and arrested at least five suspects, including the woman, he added.
Critic suggests the women was part of the game, trading herself roughly $1000 due to financial crisis she has been suffering, leaving her only two children home, while her husband works in Iran.
Faryab police said violence and financial challenges within the family were of the factors woman escaped her house.
