WASHINGTON – United States President Donald Trump said he will hit the Taliban “harder than they have ever been hit before,” as he spoke at a ceremony outside the Pentagon Wednesday morning to commemorate 18th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
Trump warned, as Tolonews reported, “if for any reason they [Taliban] come back to our country, we will go wherever they are and use power the likes of which the United States has never used before, and I’m not even talking about nuclear power”.
“They will never have seen anything like what will happen to them,” he said. “No enemy on earth can match the overwhelming strength, skill, and might of the American armed forces.”
· Trump Calls Off Peace Negotiations amid Taliban Attacks
On Sunday, Trump “called off peace negotiations” and cancelled meeting “major Taliban leaders” and, separately, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, after the Taliban asserted responsibility for recent attack in Kabul’s fortified zone that killed a US service member and 11 Afghans.
He told reporters at the White House the next day that talks were finished, according to sources.
