FARYAB (The Killid Group) – Afghan security forces rebuffed at least two attacks by the Taliban militants in northwestern province of Faryab, local authorities said.

Karim Yourish, spokesman for the Faryab police, told The Killid, “last night (Tuesday), armed Taliban carried attack against several posts of the Afghan security forces in Kata Qishlaq village of Pashtoon Kot district in the province, who retreated when faced heavy retaliation by the forces.”

At least two Taliban killed during clashes and further five wounded, he added.

Meanwhile, in another battle, the Taliban attacked in Dewalak area of Kohistan district, which again was snubbed by the forces.

During the battle in Dewalak, five Taliban killed and seven other injured, he added.

Afghan security force did not bear any casualties during clashes in Faryab province.

Taliban immediately did not comment on the incident.
