Herat (The Killid) – As seasonal downpours hit western province of Herat, causing flash floods and landslides, residents suffer great substantial loss and lives of their beloved ones.
At least one child is reported dead and another lost as muddy flows of water washed cities away.
Mohammad Masoud Shenzai, Head of the provincial office of Dsaster Management, told The Killid, “Amongst the seven people lost, five are found alive; one child killed and another still unknown.”
He further said, based on preliminary statistic, some 100 residences are wrecked down to the ground in several areas of Obba districts, as well as livestock suffer loss.
Meanwhile, Jelani Farhad, spokesperson for the provincial governor, confirmed to The Killid, “As the result of floods in Obba districts, one person has died and three further reported lost.”
Residential houses, farmlands and gardens have been wrecked as downpours washed out through the areas, he added.

It comes at a time the province had previously suffered similar loss in recent months, sending off residents out of their houses and neighborhoods.
