U.S.-Russia Joint Cooperation in Afghan Peace Process

The United States Secretary of State Department Mike Pompeo met with the Russian President Vladimir Putin Tuesday in Sochi City, depicting the need for joint cooperation in Afghan peace process.

President Putin expressing opinion said that Afghanistan political and security situations are alarming, and with a close cooperation of Washington and Moscow, peace could prevail in the country.

He also said peace negotiations with the Taliban representatives are pivotal, as the group has gain much power in recent years – through which Afghanistan could reach to a political settlement.

Both leaders agreed on joint cooperation for Afghanistan, as well as discussed ongoing hot issues in Iran, Venezuela, Syria, Ukraine and North Korea.
