Unites States Special Envoy Zalmay Khalilzad embarked on a multi-nation journeys to further push on peace process in the county, the US department of States says in a statement.

According to the statement, Khalilzad will travel to Afghanistan, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Jordan and Qatar March 25-April 10, as part of the overall effort to facilitate a peace process that brings all Afghan parties together in inclusive intra-Afghan negotiations.

“In Kabul, the Special Representative will consult with the Afghan government and other Afghans about the status of US talks with the Taliban, encourage efforts to form an inclusive negotiating team, and discuss next steps in intra-Afghan discussions and negotiations,” the statement read.

“Special Representative will meet with the Allies and partners regarding the status of peace talks and to coordinate sustained commitment by the international community to peace and development in Afghanistan,” statement further read.

It comes after Khalilzad wrapped the prolonged 16-day talks in Doha with a drafted agreement on paper, concerning two of the mains topic out of four: The US troops withdrawal still in Afghanistan and a solid assurance that Taliban would not use the country as a springboard for attacks against other nations.

Intra-Afghan dialogue and comprehensive ceasefire in Afghanistan have yet to be tackled in upcoming soon days’ negotiations.

Focusing on Afghan peace process, a huge number of Afghan politicians are due to meet Taliban delegations in Qatar mid-April, which will be a follow up gathering held in Moscow in February.
