Frayab (The Killid) – At least seven civilians have been killed and wounded in a number of mortars shot in central Sherin Tagab district of Northwest Afghanistan.
Karerm Yourish, provincial police spokesperson, told the Killid, “As a result of several mortars that were fired in central Sherin Tagab district, at least one women was killed and six other civilians wounded, including children.”
According to local authorities, the attacks came at a time residents were attending the funeral ceremony of their local police commander in the area.
The local police commander had suffered a severe injury after he was shot wounded by an armed man, who was tagged in a women attire – he could not survive the bullet.
The suspects had been taken down by local security police.
