Afghan Security Forces Re-Take Control of Kohestan District of Faryab

Afghan security forces regained control of Kohestan district of Faryab province on Friday after the Taliban seized it three months ago, local officials confirmed.

Confirming the incident, the Shahin 209th Corps said the Taliban hideouts were also targeted by Afghan air forces in the villages of Kohestan district.

Reports suggest that the government also used commando forces in recapturing the Kohestan district.

In the meantime, the Taliban group confirmed to lose the control Kohestan district.

This comes as the Taliban group was succeeded to collapse the Kohestan district for two times during the past year.
