Afghan spinners are better than their Indian counterparts, skipper Asghar Stanikzai said in an interview with a sports news website.
“The whole world knows that we have very good spinners Rashid Khan, Mujeebur Rahman, Mohammad Nabi, Rahmat Shah and Zahir Khan,” he said.
Rising spinners coming up in Afghanistan was brilliant thing, because they were all inspired by Rashid and Nabi, the captain was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.
“Our spin department is very strong from below. In my opinion, we have good spinners, better spinners than India,” Stanikzai was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.
His side was all poised to face India in their first-ever Test match, starting from June 14 in Bengaluru, said the leader, whose team whitewashed Bangladesh in the Twenty20 series last week.
He remarked, “Our morale is high. Last couple of years we have performed well. We want to achieve it for Afghanistan. You see the batsmen and bowlers are all in good form.”
