Taleban Commander Arrested in Germany

German police have arrested a suspected Afghan Taleban commander believed to have taken part in an attack on a military convoy about a decade ago in which at least 16 US and Afghan soldiers were killed. Reuters reported that the federal prosecutor’s office said on Tuesday that the 30-year old Afghan citizen, identified only as Abdullah P., was arrested in the southern state of Bavaria on March 23 and was being detained during the continuing investigation. The statement added that the suspect was believed to have joined the Taleban in 2002 and took over command from his father in 2004. According to German prosecutor’s office, in 2004, the suspect took over the unit and received weapons including an artillery piece, a rocket and several guns. Meanwhile Afghan Ministry of Interior Affairs (MoI) said that such terrorists are a menace to Afghanistan and world.  Najibullah Danish, deputy spokesman at MoI, said there has been a consensus to fight against terrorism recently and Afghanistan hopes that terrorists are identified, detained and crushed throughout the world.
