The coronavirus total infections hit 55,664 in Afghanistan after it recorded 18 more coronavirus cases over the last 24 hours.

COVID-19 in Afghanistan: One Death Registered

Out of the total suspected people contracting the novel coronavirus, 18 people tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic within the past 24 hours, the health ministry published its figures on Tuesday.

The country lost one COVID-19 patient during the same period.

The new cases of infection were registered in Kabul, Herat, Kandahar, Nangarhar, Panjshir, Urozgan and Helmand provinces.

The total deaths related to the disease has reached 2,436, according to ministry’s figures.

Also, 72 patient having been contracted with the COVID-19 disease have recovered over the past 24 hours, bringing the toll of coronavirus recoveries to 48,967.

Worldwide, at least 2,579,098 have died and more than 111 million have been infected since the start of an outbreak that first appeared in Wuhan, China, in early December.
