March 24 (The Killid Group) – At least two more cases of infection by the novel coronavirus were recorded in Afghanistan, the health ministry spokesman said.

Dr. Waheedullah Mayar, the spokesman of the public health ministry said on Monday, two more infection cases of the COVID-19 pandemic were recorded in Samangan and Logar provinces, bringing the infection toll to 42 in the country.

Of the total number of infection cases, 21 cases have been confirmed in the Western province of Herat which marks the country’s biggest-affected province.

A day earlier, a patient having been contracted with the novel coronavirus died in Balkh province marking the first death by the COVID-19 virus.

The coronavirus, which first appeared in China, has spread to more than a hundred countries around the world, and so far, has killed thousands of people and endangered the lives of many others.
