KABUL (The Killid) – Former President Hamid Karzia at a gathering on Peace and Security in Kabul Thursday said all Afghans desire for peace that means end of war.

Reflecting to the current peace efforts, Karzai said if the United States has the same definition of peace in ongoing process, I support the move, adding we favor peace and stability in the country in which Afghan citizens are involved.

“For the People of Afghanistan, peace means ending the war and returning to a peaceful life,” he said.

Karzai stressed Afghan ownership of the peace process, noting that Afghans are not a “guest”, rather the main protagonists in peace negotiations.

The process should not lead to a conflict between the great countries of the world and neighboring Afghanistan, he added.
