KABUL (The Killid) – Officials inaugurated Kabul-Sharjah air corridor Monday, paving the way for Afghanistan and United Arab Emirates for better trade and transit facilities.
Samir Rasa, Spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, said to The Killid, “the first ever flight through this corridor (Kabul-Sharjah) was 2 tons of apricot and cherry exported to the city (Sharjah) via Air Arabia.”
“Since the beginning of air corridors between Afghanistan and other countries, more than 7,000 tons goods – under 631 flights from Kabul, Herat, and Balkh provinces – have been transported to different parts of the world,” he added.
Rasa stressed the need for utilizing air corridors to countries of the world, saying its administration bids for improving imports and exports within the year.
