The United Nations is looking to Find a Solution for Afghanistan’s Foreign Exchange Reserves

Stephane Dujarric; The spokesman of the secretary general of the United Nations in a press conference said: “The foreign exchange reserves of the Central Bank of Afghanistan, belong to the people of this country”.

At the same time, he stressed that this money should be managed transparently and in compliance with international sanctions so that it is not used for illegal purposes.

The US, after the withdrawal of all its forces from Afghanistan, blocked billions of dollars from the foreign currency reserves of the Central Bank of Afghanistan.

Although the Islamic Emirate has repeatedly asked the US to release these reserves, it has not received a positive response yet.

Afghanistan has faced a humanitarian and economic crisis after the freezing of these reserves.
