The Foreign Minister of Iran says that Hassan Kazemi Qomi, the ambassador of Iran in Kabul has discussed with the authorities of the Islamic Emirate about the water rights of the Helmand Sea.
Amir Abdollahian, speaking to Sada and Sima network, said that these negotiations had good results.
Meanwhile, referring to clashes between the two country’s border forces, Abdollahian emphasized that Iran understands the situation in Afghanistan and the Afghan authorities stated that these clashes were not targeted.
Tensions between Afghanistan and Iran over the water right of the Helmand Sea increased after the harsh statements of the Iranian president.
He threatened that Afghanistan will take Iran’s claim to the Helmand Sea seriously and provide it.
Simultaneously with these tensions, the border forces of Iran and the Islamic Emirate clashed in Nimroz province last Saturday, in which two Iranian soldiers were killed.
