The G7 Leaders’ Concern About the Economic and Humanitarian Situation in Afghanistan

The G7 leaders in their annual summit that was held in Hiroshima, Japan, on May 19, expressed their concerns about the economic and humanitarian situation in Afghanistan and asked Islamic Emirate for a reversal of its recent decisions.

The basis of a joint declaration of these countries is that the Islamic Emirate assures the unrestricted activities of the United Nations in Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, they emphasized equal and meaningful participation of all Afghans in all spheres of public life and access to humanitarian assistance and basic services.

They also called for the cancellation of the ban on women and girls in Afghanistan and emphasized the need for full participation of the people in the government and the start of the national dialogue.

They also asked the current Afghan government to fulfil its commitments to the people of Afghanistan and the world and not to allow terrorist groups to use Afghanistan’s soil against other countries.

It should be mentioned that the ban on education, training and work of girls and women in Afghanistan has been criticized by countries around the world.
