Karzai’s press office announced that he spoke with Tom West by phone. The source adds that the two sides asked for the removal of the obstacles to the activities of local and foreign aid organizations and institutions, for better access of the people to aid, and the removal of the ban on women working in these offices.
Meanwhile, Tom West wrote on his Twitter that in this phone call, they also discussed the urgent need to cancel the ban on work and education of women and girls and to take a step towards negotiations among Afghans.
It should be mentioned that Tom West started a new round of his trip to the region on April 11th of this year.
First, he traveled to Qatar and met with the officials of this country and some Afghans.
