The United States Geological Center has announced that this 6.8-degree earthquake happened around 12:12 pm on Saturday (March 18) at a depth of 66 kilometers near the border of Ecuador and Peru.
According to the Ecuadorian authorities, only eleven deaths due to this earthquake have been registered in El Oro province.
However, the amount of damage caused by this earthquake is not known, and the Ecuadorian authorities say that they will provide more information on this matter, after a detailed investigation.
