In a statement of the ministry, it is stated that after the visit of the delegation of the Islamic Emirate to Russia, the two sides reached an understanding on the purchase of some equipment needed in Afghanistan.
Dimitri Zhirnov, the Russian ambassador to Afghanistan, said in an interview with the Russia 24 TV channel recently that there is a space for cooperation between the two countries, but it should be determined in which sectors Afghan officials and businessmen are interested in investing.
He said that Russia and Afghanistan have signed an agreement on the construction of a thermal power plant in the north of the country, and Moscow is ready to cooperate in the implementation of the Turkmenistan gas pipeline project to Pakistan and India, in the territory of Afghanistan.
At the same time, Zhirnov said that Russia may also cooperate in increasing the capacity of the Salang tunnel.
