Omar Abdi, who traveled to Kabul in January as part of the United Nations delegation and met with the officials of the Islamic Emirate, says that six million people in Afghanistan are facing the risk of famine.
In an interview with the British ITV channel, Abdi said that 28 million people, including 21 million women and children in Afghanistan, need humanitarian aid, and if they are not supported, their situation will worsen.
This is despite the fact that, at the same time as the winter season, a large number of international aid organizations stopped or reduced their activities in Afghanistan in response to the ban on women’s work in non-governmental offices.
This decision of international organizations has worsened the situation of needy people in Afghanistan.
