The situation of Afghan women and their rights will be discussed during the annual debate of the United Nations Security Council on Thursday, this week.

Members of the Security Council Will Discuss The Situation of Afghan Women

This debate will be held under the name “Women, Peace and Security” in which Amina Mohammad; United Nations Deputy Secretary General, Sima Bahous; Executive Director of Women’s Affairs of this organization, and Heather Bar; The deputy of the women’s department in Human Rights Observatory will give a speech.

Meanwhile, Heather Barr told the Voice of America that this debate is an important opportunity to draw the world’s attention to the situation of Afghan women and girls.

It should be noted that the World criticized the Islamic Emirate because of the closure of schools for girls above the sixth grade and did not recognize the current government of Afghanistan.

But the Islamic Emirate says that after providing a suitable environment, these girls will be allowed to go to school.
