This meeting will be held for two days in Samarkand City, among the members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which includes China, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, India, and Pakistan, and the heads of observer countries, including Belarus, Iran, and Mongolia, will also be present.
But Afghanistan, which was recognized as an observer member of this organization in 2012, will not have a representative in this meeting.
However, Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, in a tweet, welcomed the words of Shaukat Mirzayev, the president of Uzbekistan, about Afghanistan.
During the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting, Shaukat Mirziyoyev, the President of Uzbekistan, emphasized the role of Afghanistan in regional and global policies.
He has said that throughout history, Afghanistan has played the role of a buffer country between regional and world powers and it has great importance in connecting Central Asia and South Asia.
Ziayev added that Afghanistan is a complementary part of the scope of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
At the same time, Zabihullah Mujahid said that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan praised this stance of “Uzbekistan” and considers it to benefit the future of the two countries.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization was established in 2001 and has been active in the fight against terrorism and extremism in addition to economic affairs and regional development.
