Pelosi, after arriving in Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, said that this trip shows the strong support of US for Taiwan.
However, she emphasized that her visit to Taiwan is not in contradiction with US policies towards China.
China had warned that Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan would have dire consequences for US and Washington would be responsible for it.
China considers Taiwan as a part of its territory and asserts that they will take the control of this island by force if necessary.
