Explosion near Girls’ School in Kabul Kills 25, Injures 52

A deadly explosion took place on Saturday evening in Afghan capital of Kabul, killing at least 25, according to officials, who added the toll could rise.

An explosion took place Saturday around 4:27 local time near Sayed ul-Shuhada school in Dasht-e Barchi area, Afghan capital’s PD13, said Tariq Arian, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior.

He put the toll of casualties to 25 killed and 52 wounded—all civilians.

According to the spokesman, the toll was expected to rise.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.

The Taliban has condemned the deadly attack, blaming the Afghan intelligence to be responsible.
