Coronavirus: Protective Masks Now Mandatory in Herat

Jailani Farhad, a spokesman for the provincial governor confirmed to The Killid Group that the governor’s office distributed as many as 100,000 facial protective masks to labors, and now wearing masks is mandatory in the province.

He urged the residents of Herat to wear masks and take the coronavirus measures seriously.

Health officials in Herat announced that wearing protective masks were made mandatory for the residents of the province.

Mohammad Rafiq Shirzai, a spokesman for the health department in Herat province, reiterated that people who violate wearing masks will be prosecuted.

A score of the provincial council members believe that the plan of wearing masks won’t be effective unless a mask distribution process continues.

Jahantab Taheri, a member of the council, told The Killid Group reporter that only a continued process of mask distribution will lead to the success of the plan.

Mrs. Taheri believes that taking the health measures seriously by the residents, and in the meantime, providing them with water and disinfectants are necessarily useful for the prevention of the coronavirus outbreak.

Since the outbreak, which is counted within more than 4 months, a total of 66 patients having been infected with the coronavirus disease have lost their lives, while nearly 383 patients recovered.
