NSC Condemns Recent Attack on Khurshid Media Group’s Vehicle, Calls It Attack on Freedom of Expression

Following yesterday’s attack on Khurshid Media Group’s car carrying its employees, the Afghan National Security Council (NSC) condemned it in strongest terms and called it an attack on freedom of expression and the media.

In a statement, the Afghan Intelligence agency said that attacks on media are considered attacks on Islam and humanity. The incident will be thoroughly investigated, it continued.

Yesterday at around 4:00pm, a vehicle from Khurshid television was hit by a roadside bomb near PD4 of Kabul city, Gule-Surkh Square, leaving two employees of the media group killed and four others injured.

So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the incident, and the armed Taliban issued denial to take responsibility for the attack.
