April 30 (The Killid Group) — Pretty nearly two months after the presidential rivals held simultaneous inauguration ceremonies, the two leaders are still remained deadlocked in a feud stemmed from last year’s elections.

European Union in Afghanistan has warned a continued political impasse can have a negative impact on the future of the country.

According to a press release by the European Union in Afghanistan, Head of the EU Delegation, Member States Ambassadors present in Kabul, and the Ambassador of Norway, in an audio call with Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, who proclaimed himself as the winner of September’s presidential elections, appealed to him to step up and settle the electoral impasse between him and his political foe, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.

The press release has warned a continued political feud may negatively affect future funding for the security and development of the country.

The political affairs analysts, however, are confident that the Constitution is perceived to be the only way to break the deadlock between the electoral rivals.

The current political stalemate can can only be resolved within a constitutional framework, said Kabir Ranjbar, a political expert.

He is confident that “There is a lawful resolution for the ongoing political chaos. These people don’t respect the constitution. The international community is also a part of the crisis. They also don’t respect the constitution. The current situation under the title of partnership and inclusive government is imposed on the Afghan people. An ignorance of the constitutional provisions may lead to a complicated situation in the country.”

Meanwhile, Zubair Shafiqui, a political analyst, believe that the main reason for the current political chaos is the last year’s disputed presidential elections, and both electoral teams are involved in complicating the situation.

“Both sides are involved in the prolonged dispute. The crisis mainly stems from the September’s presidential elections. They have put their personal interests above the national interests,” he continued, adding that “They should put their self-interests aside.”

Taking to Twitter, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, the former Chief Executive of the Afghan government, reassured the EU Delegation and the ambassadors of EU countries that he is “keen” on ending the political deadlock.
