April 11 (The Killid Group) – The Afghan government on Friday refused Pakistan’s demand to hand over the leader of ISIS Khorasan Province recently arrested by Afghan security forces.
The Afghan Foreign Ministry said in a statement the ISIS leader, Abdullah Orakzai, also known as Aslam Farooqi, was involved in gruesome activities in Afghanistan; he will be tried in Afghanistan for his crimes.
“Afghanistan does not discriminate between terrorists, it takes equal legal actions against all and is committed to all anti-terrorism commitments,” the statement read.
Pakistan’s request came during a meeting with Ambassador Atif Mashal with Pakistan government on April 9.
During the meeting, it was discussed that the ISIS leader “should be handed-over to Pakistan for further investigations” because he was involved in “anti-Pakistan activities in Afghanistan.”
The Afghan National Directorate of Security (NDS) announced the arrest of Farooqi on April 6.
His arrest came days after the group claimed responsibility for a deadly terrorist attack on a Sikh worship place in Kabul, which killed 25 people.
