Japan on Alert as North Korea Gears Up for Spy Satellite Launch

Japan is on alert and warned that North Korea’s launching a spy satellite into space is to test weapons.

North Korea has informed the Japan Coast Guard that it plans to launch a satellite-carrying rocket into space in the coming days.

The Defense Ministry of Japan added that North Korea wants to use its spy satellite in this way, and long-range rocket technology is needed to do this.

According to Japanese officials, such a decision by North Korea is against the UN Security Council resolution.

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida criticized North Korea’s launching and said that Japan will stop North Korea from cooperation and coordinating with America, South Korea and other countries.

“The use of ballistic rocket technology, even in the name of launching satellites, violates the Security Council resolution.”

On the other hand, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China strongly condemned the previous launches of North Korean rockets and said that the parties should negotiate to reduce tensions.

Mao Ning, the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry emphasized a meaningful dialogue and said: “The situation on the Korean Peninsula has reached this point for many reasons. We hope that the concerns of all parties will be resolved. The parties should stick to the path of political settlement and Resolve their legitimate concerns in a balanced way through meaningful dialogue.”

However, some analysts say a military satellite would increase North Korea’s surveillance capabilities and improve its ability to strike targets in the event of war.

North Korea says it has completed its first military spy satellite and leader Kim Jong-un has confirmed final preparations for its launch into orbit.
