The European Union Sanctions on 18 Individuals and 19 Iranian Organizations

This decision was made in response to the suppression of protesters by the Iranian government, at the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the European Union on Monday.

Government officials, members of parliament, members of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, and officials of Iran’s state media are included in the new EU sanctions list.

The European Union has sanctioned 164 individuals and 31 Iranian organizations after the Iranian people’s protests began in September 2022, on the charge of suppressing the protesters.

During these protests, 525 people died, according to human rights defenders, most of these people were killed by security forces.
