Suspension of Girls’ Education for External Reasons

According to an announcement by the Ministry of Higher Education, Neda Mohammad Nadim, in a meeting with Markus Potzel, the Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Afghanistan, emphasized that the efforts to solve the problems are going on according to Islamic principles.

However, he has emphasized that Afghanistan will not accept any demand or pressure against Islamic principles.

Potzel, meanwhile, has shared his plan for girls’ education with the Acting Ministry of Higher Education, but the Ministry of Higher Education has not provided details on the plan.

On the other hand, the Office of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), referring to this meeting, says that Afghanistan is entering a new period of crisis.

UNAMA says that Potzel, in a meeting with the Acting Minister of Higher Education, once again asked the Islamic Emirate to reconsider women’s education and work.
