Samantha Power, the head of this department, posted on Twitter that currently 11,600,000 women and girls in Afghanistan are deprived of humanitarian aid due to recent restrictions by the Islamic Emirate.
According to her, banning women from working with domestic and foreign non-governmental organizations makes it impossible for charities to provide humanitarian aid to families.
The Islamic Emirate, states that the reason for this decision is the non-observance of Islamic principles and regulations in institutions.
The Ministry of Economy recently banned the work of women in domestic and foreign non-governmental institutions until further notice.
