Canada and the Netherlands, as co-chairs of the Media Freedom Coalition (MFC), have announced that Afghanistan has been removed from the coalition.
This organization has added that it has become clear to the World Media Freedom Coalition that the situation of freedom of expression and media in Afghanistan is worrying.
This institution also says that Afghanistan no longer adheres to international obligations in the field of media freedom, and for this reason, the country’s membership in the freedom of expression coalition has been canceled.
Media Freedom Alliance has expressed concern about the current situation of journalists in Afghanistan.
In 2018, Afghanistan became a member of this coalition and pledged to accept and comply with the conditions of the Freedom of Expression Coalition.
