According to the Reuters news agency, Zelensky in his video speech said: “The Ukrainian army liberated dozens of cities in the south and east of the country”.
Zelensky added that after the Russian referendum, Ukrainian forces liberated dozens of populated areas in Kherson, Kharkiv, Luhansk, and Donetsk from Russian forces.
This is while Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees recognizing the independence of Kherson and Zaporizhia on Thursday last week, paving the way for the annexation of these regions to Russia, and also he held the official ceremony of the annexation of four regions of Ukraine to Russia on last Friday.
The referendum for the annexation of the four eastern Donbas regions located in eastern Ukraine was held from September 23rd to 27th in those regions.
