Protests in Iran: Girls Chanted Anti-Government Slogans in Schools and Universities

A number of protesters chanted “This is no longer a protest, it is the beginning of a revolution” in their protests.

At the same time, videos are circulating on social media showing group demonstrations of girls and boys in different parts of Iran.

However, Ayatollah Khamenei, the supreme leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, defended the government’s response to the protesters and said: “The US and Israel are fomenting “riots” in Iran”.

These protests take place after the death of Mahsa Amini, following her arrest by the Iranian military forces.

Mahsa Amini’s family said that their daughter died because the military forces hit her on the head. But the police denied any mistreatment of her and said that Mrs. Amini died of a “sudden heart Attack”.

To deal with the protesters, the Iranian government has cut off the Internet and arrested a large number of protesters. A number of protestors have lost their lives as a result of clashes between the military forces and the protesters.

The Iranian Human Rights Organization, in its latest announcement on Tuesday (4th October), has announced, at least 154 people were killed in recent protests.
