At the same time, a number of female applicants for the current year’s entrance exam, asking the government to consider a bonus for girls, in the selection process of universities.
Khaliqdad Ahmad Taqi, the Ministry of Higher Education spokesperson, said: “There are no restrictions for girls applying for entrance exams in choosing their fields of study”.
He also added that every applicant could choose his/her desired fields of study, as in previous years.
“The participant’s entrance exam can freely choose any field they are interested in, and the Ministry of Higher Education is trying to provide them, a better education environment.”
At the same time, a number of girls who want to take part in this year’s entrance exam asked the government to consider more share for female applicants.
Arezo, one of the applicants for the entrance exam, said: “I want to participate in the entrance exam and be selected in my desired field. The government should not restrict the choice of academic fields.”
The girls applying for the entrance exam are saying that they have not been able to fully prepare for this year’s entrance exam due to the conditions and restrictions imposed on girls’ education this year.
They say that in this year’s exam, girls should be given a higher share so that more girls are attracted to continue their studies in universities.
Hadiya, another girl applying for the entrance exam, says: “This year, the girls could not prepare for the entrance examination. I want the government to pay more attention to girls and give them more share.”
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Higher Education is talking about girls being free to choose their fields of study, while some media have quoted him and published different opinions, including the limitation on selecting the fields of study for girls.
