Western powers are lobbying with other countries on the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors to jointly pressure Iran to account to the agency for enriched uranium at its three sites, according to Reuters, citing Western diplomats.
The Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency has 35 members, which started its quarterly meeting on Monday (12 September).
In its last quarterly meeting in June, this council expressed its “deep concern” regarding Iran’s insufficient cooperation regarding its nuclear program and asked Tehran to cooperate with the IAEA as soon as possible.
Now the United States, Britain, France, and Germany have once again declared their support for the previous resolution.
