Qalandar Ebaad, Acting Minister of Public Health, in a press conference on Tuesday (13 September) said that the construction of two hospitals with Iran’s financial support in Kabul and Bamyan would be completed and put into operation soon.
Ebad, who had recently traveled to Iran at the head of a delegation, said in this conference that there had been agreements with Iran in capacity building for health care staff, equipping blood banks, raising the capacities of health care staff, and also medical facilities.
He added that Iran had reached an agreement with Afghanistan in various sectors. Among these, connecting Afghanistan’s health centers with the online medical library increases capacity in pediatric heart surgery and cancer control.
At the same time, the Acting Minister of Public Health asked domestic and foreign investors to invest in the medical sector, especially the production of medications in Afghanistan.
