Stéphane Dujarric, the spokesman of the UN Secretary General, said in a press conference that Afghan women and girls have been deprived of their rights, including education, access to health care and a free and equal life, in the last year.
Referring to the evaluation of the United Nations Children’s Fund, Dujarric said that if the three million girls who are deprived of going to school complete their education, they will contribute about 5.4 billion dollars to the Afghan economy.
It should be mentioned that despite the strong internal and external reactions, the Islamic Emirate still has not made a decision regarding the reopening of schools for girls above the sixth grade. The Islamic Emirate says that these female students will be allowed to go to school by providing a suitable environment.
