At least 16 people were killed in series of deadly explosions that hit a mosque in Kabul and minivans in Mazar-i-Sharif city, north of Afghanistan, on Wednesday evening.
The first three explosions hit three minivans in the fifth and tenth districts of Mazar, capital of northern Balkh province.
According to health officials, at least ten civilians were killed and 15 more injured in these attacks.
The attacks were followed by a blast that tore through a mosque in Kabul.
The blast hit “Hazrat Zakeria” mosque in Traffic square, Kabul’s fourth district, during evening prayers, police chief spokesman said.
He put the toll to six killed and 18 more wounded.

The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for attacks in Mazar-i-Sharif.
