The nationwide tally of infections has reached to 172,205 since the start of the pandemic, figures by the country’s health ministry showed.

The country also reported three related deaths in the last 24-hour period, taking the overall tally to 7,539 fatalities.

Also, 241 patients recuperated from the disease in last 24 hours.

With COVID-19 infections on rise, officials ask residents to follow health measures.

The COVID-19 pandemic has killed 5,880,234 people worldwide since it began in December 2019, according to a NYT’s tally. 

More than 422.9 million people have been infected worldwide, the tally showed.
